Mike came to Moscow alone to meet the Russian lady he thought would be his Russian bride. He'd been corresponding with her for a year. Their letters became very romantic but much to his shock, when he finally visited Russia, she would always say she was too busy to see him when he called. Eventually, she started hanging up on him. I was assigned to interpret for Mike. He and I sat down at a table and immediately I noticed several Russian ladies started to line up nearby looking at him. He was deep in thought when I drew his attention to the group of gathering admirers. Mike noticed one beautiful Russian lady with long blond hair looking from behind her friend's shoulder. He asked me to invite her to our table.
Ludmila couldn't believe her luck, as there were more than 250 Russian ladies in the hotel reception hall. She had many questions and he could hardly squeeze in a word. When he asked about photos she produced a big album. Then he showed her his photos. She loved them. All Russian ladies love photos so bring plenty with you when you travel to Russia or Ukraine. Photos of your home, neighborhood, city, family, etc. Ludmila's profession was related to Mike's so she asked lots of questions about his work.
