(Russian Ladies Story continued from previous page.)
Charles' text continued:" Of course we have some differences in culture, but I think we will get through all difficulties." The Russian version read:" Be aware of a very dangerous bacteria. Be sure it does not infect us. Victory will be ours." Then Charles said he "looked forward to seeing her soon" and asked her "to e-mail him back as soon as possible." And his "translator" insisted "It is time to unite our forces against the common enemy." At the end he wanted her to be optimistic about their future and said "time will fly quickly, do not give up on me." His translator computer-friend also had some advice: "Watch this bacillus closely and please do not throw me into the garbage." No wonder she thought he had gone crazy. "So how was my translation?!" He wondered at the end of the letter. "Good? Is it not"?
Russian Ladies Seeking Marriage Online
(Russian Ladies Story Epilogue)
And again it took me quite a time to convince her he still loved her. Despite the poor translation software, Charles is now married to his tall Russian lady. (Tatyana Belova, Interpreter Moscow, August 2005)
Note: Russian ladies are worth all these small inconveniences. They quickly learn English and adjust to American culture. You could be sitting by the fireplace one day with your Russian lady, laughing and remembering all the awkward situations you went through many years ago. By the way, the most current translation software is now much improved for Russian ladies communication - about 90% accuracy.
